This is the second Alexandra Christo book I’ve read and I enjoyed it far more than Princess of Souls.
This is another fantasy novel following Atia the last of the Nefas who feeds off people’s fear usually their nightmares. Her family were killed by the High Gods and she has hidden in the mortal realm ever since.
She forms an alliance with Silas who is a herald who will be ferrying souls to the afterlife for a hundred years in reparation for past sins. He cannot remember any part of his past life.
Atia loses her immortality and they strive to recover that and reclaim Silas’s memories.
The story flows quickly with some plot surprises which makes it a good book to escape into especially on a cold winter afternoon! The characters are mostly well rounded and I was interested to find out what happened to them next.
If you like fantasy stories you will probably enjoy this.
