I was unexpectedly completely hooked by this book. The quest within a mythical realm isn’t usually my thing, but the writing was pacey and engaging from the start so had me hooked.
I liked the characters and the unusual relationships which are built from the beginning. I was intrigued by the dynamic between the characters and so easily wanted to read more.
This aspect of the book continued to build throughout with an unexpected and warming romance. I devoured the rest of the book needing to know how the relationships would all develop, given the intricate web of challenges they arose through.
This is a great teen read and I will definitely recommend to my children and their peers. Hood pave, lots of action and wonderful characters. Plenty of dilemmas to challenge and a great strong female lead with an equal strong male counterpart. Two great main characters and a wonderful story which doesn’t disappoint.
