This was so disappointing! I've got to page 100 and DNF'd it because I can't bring myself to care about anything that's happening at all, including the characters. This is a shame for me as I've read and enjoyed several of Christo's books previously, but this just isn't doing it for me at all.
It's hard to say exactly what the problem is - on paper this is exactly the type of book I usually enjoy, but something about it just didn't grip me at all. Even 100 pages in, I'm not particularly connected to either of the main characters and I haven't found myself desperate to pick it back up either. That to me is a clear sign that this isn't the book for me, at least right now. Never say never, maybe I will find myself picking it back up eventually, but I have no motivation to do so at the moment.
