This was a really easy read that was also perfect for curling up with a blanket and a hot drink. It's kind of comforting. I especially think this is the perfect time of year for a book like this.

It was a solid YA fantasy with great characters and an adventurous, quest-like plot. This was a really quick read and had a great twist towards the end. It was pretty simple as far as the fantasy and magical elements go but that made it easy to follow.

I think the author took care when it came to the world building and mythological aspects, yet at the same time I didn't find this overwhelming to understand, so it was very quick to get into, which I appreciated.

The highlight for me was definitely the found family feeling of the main group of characters. They all came from different backgrounds and worked together towards a common goal. They became so close throughout the book and I really enjoyed their whole dynamic.
