On reading the first couple of chapters of this book I was intrigued to see how it would develop. It has an interesting plot line with the Gods being the “bad guys” which is less common in mythical storylines. The two main characters are initially wary of each other but as the story progresses the strength of the relationship between them grows and develops gradually through friendship and eventually a mutual trust binds them strongly together on their quest. Without giving too much of the plot away, there are adventures and mishaps galore with vampires heralds monsters and Gods aplenty. This book appears to be aimed at teenagers from the content and the style of writing and I think the author has achieved this very well. It has a fast paced storyline with relatable characters that teenagers will enjoy and want to read more about. Even though this is not my preferred genre or aimed at my age group I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it as an absorbing read.
