I have read two of Alexandra Christo's books before: To Kill a Kingdom and Princess of Souls. Honestly, I did enjoy those two more than this book, but i still really like The Night Hunt.
This author is so good at writing fast-paced stand-alone fantasy novels, that can be read quickly when you need a fantasy book but do not want to commit to a whole series. Her writing is so captivating and interesting, her plots are always great, and her characters are fun and loveable.
In The Night Hunt, it started quite slow for me, I could not really get into the story and I was kinda bored. However, it definitely picked up in the second half and I flew through it because I was so intrigued. I loved the several plot twists - they were done so cleverly and I did not see them coming.
One thing that I do wish was better was the love story. I did not really connect with them like her other love stories. But overall, I really enjoyed this book!!
