I didn't realise that this was the same author as the Princess of Souls that I also enjoyed and I will now get the other books written by her.
The book is written from the point of view of two different people, Atia who i the last of the Nefas monster and Silas who is a Herold that helps souls through to the next life and depending on how their life has been will send them on to the right path.
Atia is friends with a human boy named Tristan who in some ways will be her downfall.
Silas, when he was made into a Herold by the high Gods had his memory wiped, he has no memories of anything and tried hard to get them back but without success, he finds a way that he can do it but would need to lead others to be able to do it.
As you are reading you forget that these are monsters and Gods, they are just people who you really want to succeed, they are brilliantly written characters.
