I really enjoy a good fantasy book, and I was looking forward to reading this one.
Very obviously aimed towards young adults, Christo very quickly creates an interesting and rich new world, introducing us to different monsters and Gods, all based loosely on Greek mythology.
It introduces Atia, the last of her kind, and the story follows her personal growth.
Discovering that she's not quite as alone as she first thought, she quite quickly gathers a small group of friends around her creating a family she never thought she'd be a part of again.
Stories of Gods and monsters, family and betrayal, Atia realises not everything she remembers from her childhood and what she was told was entirely correct. She discovers the truth, and works with her new rag-tag team to hunt other monsters, in an attempt to revenge and save herself.
Could have benefitted from more world building and background details, but on the whole, an enjoyable book.
