This was my first experience of this author and her work and I have to say that Alexandra Christo has a very comfortable writing style that I find both compelling and cosy at the same time. It was an intriguing storyline and I really enjoyed the characters and their development, particularly the two main protagonists who we follow and the chapters alternate between their points of view. There are nice elements of Ancient Greek myth woven into the tale but the world itself still feels independent from that and unique in its own right. There is a nice slow burn to the romance sides of the story and the friendships build nicely and all the supporting characters are nice and likeable. I also found the plot twist at the end quite unexpected which was a nice touch – all in all it was very readable and I would definitely read other books by this author and possibly even re-read this one which is very rare for me these days.
