I was instantly drawn to this book when I found out about the dual timeline, I love the depth that this can bring to a book. When reading the first impression the vivid descriptions astounded me. I really felt like I was on a ship back in 1628. It’s left me desperately wanting to see what the 1989 chapters will be like. I want to know what happens to Mayken and Gil and how they are linked. I also love anything based on a true story, I always end up learning so much!
