I absolutely love this book. Written in two different viewpoints. One a boy in the present day, who is a loner, and the other from a girl in the seventeenth century. The boy is in Australia, and the girl is on the ship Batavia, en route to Australia. There are secrets, thrills and action aplenty in this book. If you love action and adventure, or historical fiction, read this book and find this little gem.
The writing is lyrical, and so descriptive. You really feel as though you are there with the characters. You will find yourself smiling at the good points, but also at times angry, emotional and anxious, at the things these two character’s experience. You really feel for the two children, and wish for everything to turn out well, but does it?
