This book must be great value for money. It’s like reading 2 books for the price of 1!
I have seen several television series like this and never managed to get on with them. Switching from one time zone to another always seemed odd to me. However with this book it seemed quite natural. The author did this seamlessly although they were 300+ years apart. Brilliant.
It started in quite an understandable way with a young girl being shipped to another part of the world to join her dad. The dreadful scenes of brutal violence later were unexpected at this stage. Some of this was upsetting at times.
In book two!!! there were also very upsetting scenes. Although due to this being set in 1989 there was more law & order so things seemed more normal to 21st century eyes.
I have never heard of this author before but will look out for her again.
