What a magical little story. Part ghost story, part horror story, and a whole load of magic, all condensed in to 375 pages! Heart wrenching and beautifully written, it makes you want to go and research the background of the actual event the story is based on.
This was my first book by this author and I certainly don’t think it will be my last. I adored the style of writing, how the author made me feel like I actually knew the characters deep down in to their souls and this made my heart break in to pieces at times.
I particularly enjoyed how the lives of both characters (mayken who exists in
1628 and Gil who exists in 1989) intertwined so flawlessly, and a connection is forged across the centuries.
I would also like to point out that the cover is absolutely stunning, and would definitely make me lift this book from the shelves of any book shop!
