I'll be honest- the cover of this book is what drew me in. The colours work so well together and it's simply beautiful.
The plot of the book sounded promising and I was eager to find out how the two children's stories could be linked so far apart in time, plus the dual POV and unique feature of having children as main characters hooked me. However the book itself was pretty much just boring- nothing really stood out to me. The writing was fine, the characters were fine, everything was fine. But that was it. Nothing gripping or memorable, no sharp language to keep things interesting. Despite my earlier interest in the dual time plot it isn't enough to make me keep reading- whatever twist there is probably isn't worth the very average pages of writing it would take to get there.

I don't want to sound overly negative- there's nothing really wrong with the book. There just isn't anything particularly amazing about it either. However everyone has their own opinions and preferences and just because this book wasn't for me doesn't mean it's not for anyone.
