This story is different as it is written it Two different perspectives which I find interesting. It tells us about a girl called maykken which she is very adventurous person with a strong imagination. Her mother was missing she went to go live with her father. The boy which he is called Gil we know has his problems with family his mum overdosed and he is an orphan. He lives with his grandfather on a fishing island which is very lonely. While he is on this island we learn the story of Batavia. We find that both kids are going through grief and having troubles but still have a lot of spirit. Batavia is an actual island and written about something from the past history that happened where many people died on board and on land some killed including children. This is a sad story which I never knew about but the author has written it more fiction based. If you enjoy reading like books about mystery and find treasure this is for you.
