Having read this story and not having any expectations when I started I will admit that I had a really good time with the story! I managed to finish it in one day and haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
The night ship brings together the story of two children who have recently lost their mothers but not in the way you would think as their stories are over 300 years apart.
I felt that both their stories would have worked really well apart and yet they came together so well. We get alternate chapters on each child and at times they inter-twine quite beautifully.
This is unlike any book I have ever read before and I really can’t wait to see what the author Jess Kidd comes up with next!
