The opening pages of this book hold a lot of promise. I love reading crime, and especially those books which allow you into the mind of the criminal - they become real people not just shadowy figures we never get to know. I especially like crime stories featuring historic or cold cases, so this is ticking all the boxes so far. But what I really like is when the book I'm reading features other books, or podcasts, as a major part of their storyline - another big tick!
I haven't read any books by this author yet, but do have a couple waiting on my Kindle. This First Impression has now prompted me to bump those ones up the waiting list.
I wouldn't say I disliked the book cover, but it doesn't particularly draw me in. I'm not sure I would pick it up if I saw it on the shelf.
