So far, I'm entranced. I normally have trouble concentrating on a book if there's background noise, but once I got going, I couldn't stop; I was so disappointed to get to the end of the First Look. I wasn't sure I'd like the premise of a book within a book, but I found that very good, and it made the changing voices of the narrative much easier to flip between.
I'm not sure where the book is going to head, but I know that I really want to find out, which is quite the feat for the first pages of a book in a genre I don't tend to read.
I also like the cover. I don't often pick books based on their cover, especially if it belongs to a genre or author I'm not very familiar with, but this cover stands out.
