Eve Black was a psychology study by Thigpen and Cleckley, so I'm confused already by the character name. Unless it is related, which I don't think it is judging by the extract, I simply feel the name should have been something else. There are millions of names in the world, and Thigpen & Cleckley's study is famous - there is a film about it! Catherine Ryan Howard should have researched the name (or just run it quick through Google) before putting pen to paper. If the study is related, then this could be an interesting story. But I think not. I found it too distracting, I just cannot read this book.
