Catherine Ryan Howard did such an outstanding job with this novel that had me on tenterhooks the whole time.

The premise of the book drew me in immediately with the first look and I knew I had to claim it with my points. I'm so glad I did because this book takes you on a real roller-coaster of emotions. The alternating perspectives between Eve and Jim really amped up the tension. It was a unique blend of her true crime memoir as well as segments in Jim's perspective in the real world. All the characters were so life like and believable that it wasn't hard to imagine a sinister killer stalking the night in Ireland. Eve's story was also portrayed in a relatable way and the reader is compelled to feel grief with her as the only survivor of a horrible attack that shook her entire world. Jim is presented in a very callous light which serves to highlight just how much of a dangerous individual he is hiding in plain sight.

I made a couple of guesses towards the end which I was right about but this didn't really spoil the book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of thrillers as this will have you on the edge of your seat.

Thanks so much to Reader's First and the publishers for this advanced copy of the book.
