The Nothing Man is a well-crafted psychological thriller, with a book with in a book. I’m a real sucker for these types of books. The story is told through alternate POVs between The Nothing Man and Eve’s book. At first I thought it would be difficult to read it but in fact it wasn’t. It was pretty easy to tell the difference between the two. When Eve’s book starts there is change in font so you know exactly when you’re about to start the extract from her book.
The book is brilliantly written with so much detail of the horrific crimes. These parts may be difficult for some to read but I loved them. I also can’t believe how well Howard has managed to write a book within a book. It’s already hard and time consuming to write one book but here you get two in one, and I’m still wondering how she managed to do it so well.
I’m not going to go into too much detail about the plot of this book as I think it’s best to go into it knowing as little as possible to feel the full impact. But what I will say is if you’re looking for a unique fast paced book with great writing then this one is definitely worth adding to your TBR.
