“And just when I felt like I was finally finding my way, a new set of challenges were catapulted at me: fussy eating, tantrumming, potty-training. Now it seemed biting was part of the repertoire too. And if all that wasn’t enough, always in the background was the fear that I was screwing this up. Screwing her up.” I love that Lexie, a spy who puts her life on the line through her work struggles with parenthood. This is a wonderful comparison and insight into the mind of a high flying mummy who is desperate to get it right for her daughter. The internal monologue she has about every comment she makes to her daughter is familiar to me. I see from the blurb that the host of the story is about tracking down and getting rid of a traitor. I hope that this comparison of different strands of Lexie’s life continues alongside that. If it does it is sure to be a super book!
