The cover is a striking colour, which would make the book itself stand out. I could tell by the cover that the book would probably be a thriller, as the font used on this cover is also similarly used in many thrillers.
The blurb instantly hooks the reader. Although some of the themes (murder, assassination etc) in this novel are not lighthearted, I feel like there will be funny moments either her husband and daughter.
I have to say that the characters are well-thought and also developed really well. Not only do we get a great description of their personality, but it also influences their actions and words.
The writing style flows very well and so far the novel is fast paced. Although the writing is descriptive, I found it hard to imagine some scenes and I just couldn’t get an image in my head. So imagery is not used well.
I would give this 4.5 starts, but I will round it up to 5.
