I was disappointed by the first novel to feature Lex and felt that the joke wore thin very quickly and felt stale less than half way through the story. Lex combining motherhood with a career for MI5 that her husband doesn’t know about proved a bit farcical with a flimsy spy plot and a scenario of juggling the two felt so unrealistic and unlikely that I couldn’t seriously invest in the storyline. So, not a novel for me as I struggled to complete the first in the series!
