Based on the blurb I really wasn't expecting to enjoy this First Look but it surprised me totally! I really enjoyed the character of Lex and her struggle to balance her scary, life threatening work with parenting a two year old. She is fun and warm and the writing is witty and intelligent. I'd definitely like to read more. It reminds me slightly of the Ben Aaronovitch Rivers of London series which I've loved.
I like the cover and I think it reflects the story well but it suggests more of a straight thriller than the book actually seems to be.
