It took me a couple of chapters to really get into this book. I didn't realise it was a sequel so I was a bit confused at the parts that were clearly relating to the previous book. However, once it moved past that and I got to grips with the character backgrounds and Platform 8, I was hooked.

Lex is a mum, a wife, and a highly trained assassin. The success of her next mission is vital to saving not only a very important delegate but also hundreds of innocent people. Their highly sensitive security system has been infiltrated. There is a snake among them. And if they aren't caught soon, the security of the whole country, if not world, will be jeopardised.

I thought this book was brilliantly written. The attention to detail was second to none and that made a huge impact on the story. It was fast-paced with a bunch of red herrings thrown in which knocked me off the scent. I loved that the main character was a strong female; it proved that women can kick ass without it seeming like the author was being overtly feminist. There were elements of light comedy which interspersed with intense scenes, breaking the story up nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed it in the end and was so glad I didn't give up with it, after struggling to be pulled into the story straight away. I can't wait to read about Lex's next installment!
