Lex Tyler is back and still killing it!
For the uninitiated "Killing It" was the debut novel by Asia Mackay in which we were introduced to Lex Tyler - the mother of a young daughter who juggles her work as a secret agent for Platform Eight with the daily trials and tribulations of being a wife and mother.
I stumbled across "Killing It" very much by chance and had no great expectations when I read it. How wrong I was. It is witty and intelligently written and shows great imagination as it introduces us to Alexis (Lex) Tyler - a lady capable of matching James Bond in all aspects of his professional work, but while coping with the mundane rigours of real life too!
Having loved "Killing It" I made a note to make sure that I picked up a copy of "The Nursery" when it was published and I am very glad that I did. Book #2 in this series is every bit as enjoyable as the first. I am pleased to learn that #3 is already in the planning stage (and therefore also on my "must buy" list). I also believe that the rights have been sold for both books with a view to bringing Lex Tyler to the screen. I can imagine them translating well to the visual medium, so I will look forward to seeing how that progresses too.
