Daring to be different.. punchy start
Great start to the FI - punchy, and launching straight into the story of the Hope family and their obviously complex family dynamics. So much dry humour but there are already hints that the story will probe deeper issues.
But whilst I was enjoying Augusta’s narrative and drawn into her story, the introduction of Parfait jarred, felt very artificially placed and proved a stumbling block. I didn’t instantly connect with his character but given his part was so brief I am intrigued enough to be very keen to read!
