This book was not what I expected, in the best possible way. It’s much smarter. Augusta is the main character and she’s a quirky little lady who you can’t but love, as she paints a picture for us of her mundane upbringing in south east England along with her twin and her utterly predictable risk-averse parents. And then, unexpectedly, we are in war-torn Burundi, on an entirely different journey with Parfait. How are the two stories going to link up and where will Augusta’s life take her? I’m intrigued and looking forward to more, much more.
