Having read the 'first look' of The Other Half of Augusta Hope I'm uncertain where the author, Joanna Glen, is going with this book but I strongly suspect it's going to be a fascinating journey. The reader knows from the introduction that Augusta is an adult but we are introduced to her as a child. The first few chapters alternate between Augusta's life with her mother, father and twin sister and her insatiable desire for knowledge of words and the world, in particular Burundi, a country she likes the sound of, and Parfait's life with his family in troubled Burundi. I'm looking forward to reading on and finding out how, or if, the lives of these fascinating, although disparate, characters come together.
