The characters were so warm
I really enjoyed this book and the main character, who is narrating the book is charming. An inquisitive and questioning child Augusta absorbs information and has a great desire for language and learning.
I particularly loved - and was a little surprised - by the introduction of the Barundi family with a similar character to Augusta.
The writing is charming and the character development is first rate and draws you into the story.
The only thing that will niggle is there is a lot of break down of how each word breaks down into Latin and Greek.
I am intrigued to know more about Augusta and what is going to happen to her.
