I thought this would be quite a light read but as it went on it started to cover some really deep topics. Augusta is a very complex character and her relationships with her family are complicated. This is entirely a book about finding yourself and dealing with your connections to the world around you. There were some funny bits, some touching moments and a few very sad parts. I liked the ending and also really enjoyed the two different POV’s found in the book. There was a lot of symbolism that I enjoyed and lots of connections to poetry and language. One of my favourite poets Frederico Garcia Lorca was frequently mentioned and it was nice to see how words applied in a fiction book. I would recommend this book- I read it in two days so perfect for a weekend away.
