Just holding my copy of this book made me instinctively know that this was something special . The beautiful cover said I am beautiful inside too !
It is without doubt one of the best books I have read in many years . The choice of language used throughout is so special . I felt a warm glow of satisfaction while I was reading it and like the character of Augusta Hope I too found myself reaching for the atlas to see just whereabouts Burundi is . Augusta is one of those truly remarkable characters in literature who stands out from the rest . I will not forget her as soon as I pick up the next book to read .
I do not want to give much away about the plot as I do not want to spoil this for other readers , except to say that this is a voyage of discovery , both for Augusta Hope and the reader . A truly fabulous book !
