The story about a girl, one half of twins, and her relationship with her parents, her sister, and the disabled boy next door. As a child she decided that Burundi sounded like the most interesting place in the world.
This is so well written and completely enthralling. The language is beautiful and really captures your imagination. I kept wanting to turn the page and to find out what happens next, which is always the sign of a very good book.
The characters seem well rounded and absolutely believable. Augusta Hope, the main character, is a child each of us may seem familiar with. Precocious and intelligent and inquisitive, almost always taking the opposite standpoint from her parents and sibling.
A must read for everyone.
