I picked up the book first thinking "this is not what I normally read" however once I started I couldn't put it down. You are drawn into the main character Sofia Khan instantly and feel like you would react in the same way, which the jealousy of the colleague to being in a strange country away from your family. The humor and wit that comes through from quite intense situations lightens the mood but keeps the undertones of the story at the forefront.
Sofia is easy to relate to as she juggles the pressures of every day life, from trying to find a job which you enjoy but can be flexible, to having a large family with big personalities while trying to find your own place within it. Having to go through these situations you see Sofia is a strong woman, which makes you route for her to succeed and come out better than before.
I didn't know there was a previous book but I will definitely be ordering it now!
