You know you've come across a good book when you're pausing for some much-needed air having come off the treadmill, and reflecting on Sophia's predicament following Conall's bad news revelation. If you're on the lookout for a novel which will completely engross you from the first page to the end, this is one of them.
As a young, single, British Muslim, this sequel was relatable on many levels, as was the first book. From the questionable traditional views of some characters, to the refreshing depiction of open-mindedness from Sophia's Mum and to her obvious value of her close friendships.
It's a story with an ending which may come to surprise you, but manages to nicely balance fantasy with reality.
