(Bit odd that it opens with 'One week earlier',As a reader we don't have any reference points for that and I don't yet see the relevance of having it in that format instead of just opening and then prehaps jumping forwards if needed?).

However I like the tone and style of the opening and It's a great concept.

Kate is recovering from an accident which has left her traumatised and unable to recognise faces.

Rob is a tech genius and her new partner who is helping her recovery but one day she wakes up and Rob is acting differently, she thinks he looks the same but she is no longer sure if that is Rob in a mood, or a doppelganger that has stolen his life.

I liked this first impression because I genuinely can't tell if it's in her mind or actually happening, but it's sure drawn me in for the ride.
I'm interested to see where J S Monroe goes with this story and what will happen to Kate and Rob.
