A good reader this, there are a few hard to believe parts but the text flows smoothly through the hardy waters of a psychological thriller, gripping and readable.
After a car accident Kate loses her super special top 1% of the population facial recognition skill and plummets to the bottom 1%. Fortunately Kate meets Rob in hospital, they fall in love and she moves to his Cornish million dollar retreat, at least this holiday retreat is lived in year round now.
However, Rob says one week, “oh babe, im worried about me doppleganger rocking up and taking me million euro tech business in London, chucking me corpse in the Thames and taking me woman”. That happens the very next week he goes back to work in London.
When matey dopplegang returns the next weekend, the dog knows but Kate doesnt, well except for some niggles.
It dives in quite quickly to the ta daa hes been replaced by dopplegang moment, the set up was a bit too obvious and could have been more subtle. But the characters developed nicely and the Cornish landmarks reminded me of Cornwall, could have had better description of some unique cornish coastal spots, but the secret beach was good.
Looks like a promising read, easy too, the characters should bring a good read, certainly a book for doppleganger fans.
