Took a while for the extract to get going, a lot of scene setting but at the same time not enough details to get your head into the story. It is setting up something to do with when he was putting the necklace on here and 'accidentally' nipped her neck. Then he goes off and starts playing with some neuro interface device, after telling us he was into medical neural programming. Obviously something going on there, was he involved in any way with the crash that resulted in her losing her ability to recognse faces? Not sure if it intrigues me enough to want to read more though.
