The main character Kate has been a police ‘super recogniser’ with a unbelievable talent of recognising and remembering faces. After she is involved in a serious car accident she is left with brain injuries which leads to her being unable to recognise even her own face in the mirror.
When her relationship with her boyfriend, Jake hits the rocks she is comforted by wealthy Rob who she falls head over heels in love with. In an attempt to recover and leave her old life behind she moves into Robs luxury Cornish home, but things start to go wrong. Rob has always believed he has a doppelgänger and as chilling events happen Kate begins to question Robs identity. Is she in danger from characters from her old life or those closer to home?
The short chapters told in each characters perspective was brilliant. The unique storyline which involved ‘super recognisers’ doppelgängers and Capgras syndrome educated me and had me hooked to this tense, chilling addictive read.
