A very clever and complex read which will keep you on your toes. Kate used to work for the police - as a ‘super-recogniser’, that is someone who has a substantial skill and talent in recognising specific faces from hundreds of thousands of images. But a car accident six months previously has put paid to this. Now she’s recuperating with her highly attentive boyfriend Rob and attempting to move on from her past relationship with her ex, Jake. However Rob’s fear of doppelgängers leaves her slightly freaked out and she starts to get paranoid that he is no longer the Rob she knows, and someone else, perhaps an imposter.

This was a really original tale which sped along without time to draw breath. I loved the idea of doppelgängers, I just love that word and the image it conjures, always a bit spooky.

An enjoyable and fast paced story which will keep you guessing right until the end.
