This is the story of an office prank gone horribly wrong and how those involved react and respond to the terrible news. The book goes back and forth between pre and post prank and is told from the perspective of Freya and Isla. Both have a history of personal challenges which make this particular prank important to them.
There are plenty of twists and turns along the way. Each character is well described and there are plenty of little side events and flashbacks which allow the reader to create a good image of how they live and function.
I enjoyed reading The Pact but I found it a little long and occasionally repetitive. There are a few potential plot holes but overall it’s a decent read. I liked the message and themes addressed throughout. I would rate this as a 3.5 star read so I’ll round up!
