Freya lands her dream job, coding/tech stuff for a young, hip tech company. Freya has grown up in care, the child of a young mother who could not cope and has no other family. She has hauled herself out of poverty and her lonely past and now, living with her three good friends and embarking on a glittering career, Freya feels she is on the cusp of a great new life.

Unfortunately, Freya manages to get on the wrong side of new colleague, the ultra cool Nicole, and an insidious campaign of office bullying follows. There are snide remarks, Freya is left out of social invites and her work is criticized. On the plus side, is her blossoming relationship with fellow coder, Jay, and a new friendship with astute French girl Virginie (Virginie was the only one with her head screwed on, in my humble opinion.)

The office also sounded like a bit of a nightmare, full of hipsters, lots of hugging and a cool dude boss who likes to dish out wheatgrass smoothies as well as his sage advice. Unfortunately, he’s not so hot on tackling bullying (big surprise). Scratch the surface and the 1970’s office is also alive and well (even bigger surprise).
