In some ways this is a romance with a twist, but it is also much darker and looks at the effect that workplace bullying can have on a person.
The story is mainly told from the perspective of Freya, who has just started work at tech firm Atypical. She has an instant attraction to one of the senior workers Jay, and they begin a romance. But Jay's ex Nicole takes an instant dislike and begins bullying her. One day Freya snaps, and plays a prank which backfires, and Nicole is found dead. Plus Freya starts to receive threatening messages herself.
Although mainly told from Freya's perspective, we also have the journalist Isla who is looking into Nicole's death, and I would have liked more of her character.
The story also changes time, flipping between pre and post murder, which is a little irritating at times.
