Holy smoke! The First Impression reeled me in nicely with enough snippets to grab my attention and firmly pique my interest. Having read Megan Miranda’s first adult psychological thriller (All The Missing Girls), the narrative has that same edgy, addictive quality that keeps the reader racing through the chapters. All The Missing Girls was hugely atmospheric and kept me on tenterhooks right until the final pages, so seeing if the author can do it a second time has me very keen on reading this story.

I love the whole small town rural setting where everyone has a secret to hide, especially after Leah has moved from an anonymous life amidst a big city. Already I want to know how Leah’s journalism career went up in flames and the added aspect of Leah having to face a crisis of her own, and revisit her past adds a definite spice to the sound of what unravels..
