Sounded intriguing, but sadly not for me.
In addition to the disapproval of her mother Leah has a lot on her plate. If fact, it sounds as though her life has bombed and she’s currently trying to avoid the fallout.
While the cover has a distinctly moody vibe, and intrigue has already raised its head above the parapet, the problem I have is that Leah and her world just didn’t blow me away.
We’re only treated to a short intro here and therefore it seems wholly unfair of me to judge a book based entirely on a very brief prologue and a couple of short chapters. And yet, that is what 'first impressions' are for.
Sadly I’ll be giving this one a miss, although I’ll probably be kicking myself later.
