This was the first book I had read by Megan Miranda and I managed to race through this in a day!

The storyline is tense and gripping and although I found the first few chapters slower than anticipated, I felt this really helped to ramp up the action later on in the book. The atmosphere is eerie and the fact that Leah lives in a house, hidden near a forest and lake really adds to this and makes it all feel very creepy especially when reading late at night.

How well do you really know someone? Leah finds herself questioning everything that she appears to know about Emmy? Which she realises doesn't amount to very much... How can someone live so apparently off the grid? This is explored really well in this book and we are treated to an interesting back story about why Leah moved away from her seemingly successful career in Boston, with Emmy.

The author keeps the twists and turns coming and you find yourself questioning what you think you know as she leads you down another path, then pulls you up another one.

I found that this is the type of book that once you start reading, you have to keep going to see how the storyline would unfold.

Although this is the first book I have read by Megan Miranda, I would definitely like to read more!
