I really enjoy Megan Miranda's writing - I don't think I've read a book yet by her that I haven't enjoyed. This one tells the tale of friends Leah Stevens and Emmy Grey at they up sticks from Boston and move to rural Pennsylvania. Their new adventure is short lived as someone who is remarkably similar to Leah is attacked at a nearby lake, and then Emmy inexplicably disappears...
Leah decides to use her journalistic skills to help local detective, Kyle Donovan, try and find her missing friend. However, the more they dig, the more is becomes obvious that Emmy has left no trace...in fact, it appears as though she doesn't even exist.
With the police believing that Emmy might just be a figment of her imagination, Leah is forced to try and find out the truth by herself.
As ever, Megan Miranda has produced a real page turner, which is an enjoyable read.
