As crime novels go this one appears to start typical of the genre. There is enough information to make the reader feel that they are at the murder scene while the background padding provides snippets about the narrator.
I would like to read more because the story feels quite relaxed in pace but hopefully this will change as the story develops. I feel the author is trying to lure you into the story with a false sense of security so that all later developments can have maximum shock and awe impact - just the way a great thriller should be!
So, not curling my toes from the first few pages read but feel sure that the tension and twists are there and that it will end up as an explosive read! Can't wait!
