I really like the impactful way this novel starts, with a young boy doing something really unthinkable. At first you feel sorry for him, then you realise what he's up to... shocking! This is all completely contrasted with the next chapter which seems to be less dark and 'back to reality' with crime reporter Sophie, who I really liked as a character from the extract. She seems interesting and someone I'd definitely want to read ore about. I love a (seemingly, anyway!) strong female lead and this promises to be a well crafted, exciting read!
